what I will be wearing this fall...
I am not one to have ever truly cared for trends but I do feel as if every trend has a staple so this is a guide to my closet.
Let me start off by saying this is not me in any way telling you what to wear. This is more about me sharing my excitement for the fall and the pieces in my closet that will see the light. The beauty in fashion is that it’s unique to everyone, so wear what you like, especially if it makes you feel good. Experimenting is always okay, it’s a great way to find your style !
I am not an aesthetic follower, as I always like to experiment with my outfits. Nonetheless, I have noticed a pattern with what I have been wearing for a while now and it kinda follows that 90s rom-com chic meets the movie Paddington. I have mostly always taken my fashion inspo from TV and Film. I feel as it was always best for me to develop my style by finding eccentric pieces and mixing with staples so this guide will be just that.
Tiny glasses
There’s just something effortlessly chic about a tiny pair of glasses. I recently got a golden pair and it accentuates my features so well. I am someone with thick eyebrows and when the frames fall right under them, it somehow brightens my face.
Shoes (mary janes, oxfords, boots, ballerina pumps, loafers and heeled loafers)
These types of shoes are a staple and they last a long time. There are always different variations for the type of shoe and I often like getting one of each in a basic color and one in a pop of color that suits my personal wardrobe. These shoes are also timeless and can be easily dressed up or down.
dainty jewelry(rings, bracelets, watch, earrings necklaces)
As much as I love hearing girls walking down the street with their loud jewelry and is simply not for me. I find myself to be overstimulated with too much going on, so I like to keep it small with personality. Also, a watch is just the perfect thing to elevate an outfit.
Bags (quilted bags and leather bags)
This has been my new favorite discovery. You don’t need many bags but it’s always good to have a classic, a casual and a semi casual. Messenger bags are the ultimate classy academia bags, they’re also comfy and personable. I have been loving quilted bags for my every day use. They’re spacious and often have inside pockets for organization.
5. Nails (earth tones)
short nails are a recent fav for me as well. I was always someone that naturally had long nails but that’s another thing that drives me crazy (when they break) so I have settled for short nails which I feel are so much more practical and I genuinely think it looks pretty.
Skinny scarves
I am revisiting my y2k roots and just been loving the colorful skinny scarf, it adds a great pop of color and gives you an eccentric look.
Coats that stray away from black (brown, green, red)
I am nothing if not a coat girly. I love colors, shapes and sizes. Bring them in!! You don’t need many but you need ones you’ll wear and unfortunately for me that is many <3
Corduroys
Corduroys are my ultimate saviors. Firstly, they are warm. They also elevate an outfit while still being comfortable.
Messenger hats and knitted gloves
I am a firm believer that your clothes don’t need to be colorful to be fun but your accessories absolutely do! If you are someone who doesn’t have an extreme wardrobe and work better with staple pieces, you can still pop that quirk out with fun accessories. Bonus points if you made them yourself!
Thanks for just reading me yap, after all I am just a girl…
